The Thai government has confirmed it will be organising the Asian edition of the EDM festival Tomorrowland from 2026, as it prepares for the upcoming Summer Sonic music festival in Bangkok this year.
According to a statement from the government spokesperson Chai Wacharonke, the deal to host Tomorrowland in Thailand – the first time the Belgian festival comes to Asia – could run for 10 years.
As for Summer Sonic Thailand, the festival is set to be held at Impact Muang Thong Thani on 24-25 August this year. While the festival line-up has not been released, Wacharonke says an official press conference will be held on 27 March.

Thai artistes have been regular fixtures at recent Summer Sonic festivals in Japan: in 2022’s edition, PP Krit and Billkin performed, while in 2023, the festival featured Ink Warunton and Milli.
At this year’s Japan edition, former GMMTV star Bright Vachiravit has been listed as a performer.
The decision to host the major music festivals comes amid a push to drive tourism numbers. Thailand will also be playing host to the second Asian edition of Rolling Loud Festival this year.
