Newly-launched ‘Thailand Music Countdown’ is set to air on 12 May, as it promises to be a platform for the country’s fast-growing music industry.
The weekly chart show – created by True CJ Creations, a joint venture between Thailand’s True and South Korea’s CJ E&M – will air on Channel 3 every Sunday at 17:30.

The show will be hosted by four up-and-coming T-Pop stars: ‘Daou’ Pittaya, ‘NuNew’ Chawarin Perdpiriyawong, PiXXiE member ‘Mabelz’ Suchada Sonphan, as well as MXFRUIT member ‘MiQuella’.
At the official press conference on 8 May, show producers announced the programme’s format. ‘Thailand Music Countdown’ will feature a chart segment, with a ‘Main Stage’ performance segment for artists whose songs are on the chart.
On top of that, there will be a ‘Rising Star’ stage for new acts to perform. There are also special segments in the show, including a comeback stage for artistes who have left the T-Pop, as well as a ‘Global Stage’ for international artistes to perform.
The debut episode will feature artistes like D Gerrard, fellow fellow, as well as ‘NuNew’, according to a sneak preview shown.
It is an ambitious slate for the the show, which is based off the famous Mnet M Countdown in South Korea.
Still, producers hope the show will “give space” to every T-Pop artiste, as well as support them, their labels and the music industry at large.
The official launch event was attended by T-Pop artistes of all stripes, with labels like GMM Music’s GNEST and White Music, Whattheduck Music, LiT Entertainment, as well as Spicy Disc and Muzik Move represented.
