Newly-announced chart show ‘Thailand Music Countdown’ has named four up-and-coming T-Pop stars as its hosts.
The music countdown will have ‘Daou’ Pittaya, ‘NuNew’ Chawarin Perdpiriyawong, PiXXiE member ‘Mabelz’ Suchada Sonphan, as well as MXFRUIT member ‘MiQuella’ as its hosts.
The four hosts were introduced – to much hype from fans – on social media across four days. It is still not known when the show will air, as producers have not disclosed this yet.
True CJ Creations – a joint venture between Thailand’s True and South Korea’s CJ E&M – first announced the launch of the chart show on 18 April.
On X (formerly known as Twitter), ‘Daou’ said it was a honour to be picked as the show’s host. “I will do my best in my role. I am glad to see another stage for T-Pop and the Thai music industry,” he adds.
NuNew adds that it is a “great honour” to be appointed as the chart show’s host. “I’m very happy and excited,” he says.
The countdown programme is likely to be based off the famous Mnet M Countdown in South Korea, where chart rankings are based off calculated off several factors including digital music sales, fan votes, as well as social media “points” from sites such as Youtube.
