Billkin and PP Krit’s Double Trouble concert sold out in about six hours, despite being released in the evening.
The popular duo – best known for their critically-acclaimed series I Told Sunset About You – are set to perform together for the first time on 31 August and 1 September, at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok.
Concert tickets went on sale at 6pm (Bangkok time) and by 1am, organisers said the showcase had sold out.
Many fans rejoiced at being able to get tickets, but there were also many others who groused about their difficulties in securing one. On social media, the hashtag #DoubleTroubleConcert trended with posts alleging the presence of ticket bots.
In one widely-shared post on X, a concertgoer shows what appears to be an Internet cafe with a row of computers lined up to purchase tickets, noting that the person had “done some programming” before ticket sales was open. Others shared images of automated clickers being used to ‘hold’ seats without paying.
The Concert application, the ticketing service for the concert, has not publicly commented on the allegations, which were also shared by foreign fans.
Billkin and PP first dropped the surprise concert announcement on 15 May, with the cryptic caption: “Sneaky plans are in motion.”
