Boy group PrimeTime are parting ways, in a surprise move that comes barely a year after their debut.
The group’s agency 54 Entertainment says it will “cease the group’s activities” after 20 October, following “thorough deliberation”.
“We have reached the difficult decision to cease the group’s activities. The members of PrimeTime will be parting ways,” it states.
However, the group will continue with planned activities until October, before splitting up. These include the release of their mini album Time To Love, a fansign event for the album’s release, and a mini concert.
The six-member group, comprising Ohm, James, Plengthai, Ope, Ken2 and Shunlun, made their debut in June 2023, with the track Time to Love.
So far, none of the members have publicly spoken out about the disbandment, except to reshare on social media the official statement from 54 Entertainment.

Still, that has not stopped fans from expressing their surprise and disappointment at the announcement. A fan says they were “shocked” at the announcement, thinking the group would have lasted “at least two years”.
Some fans laid the blame squarely on 54 Entertainment – which also manages girl group Pretzelle – alleging they did not do enough to promote their artistes.
PrimeTime is the latest boy group to part ways this year. DVI, the boy group under 4nologue Music, disbanded in February this year after the company shut its music division down.
