The high school talent show programme that produced the likes of popular actors Fourth Nattawat and Gemini Norawit is back after a five-year hiatus.
Thailand School Star returns again this year, with applications open from 1 August. The winner of the programme will be signed to GMMTV as its artiste.
Participants must be between 13 and 19 years old and must not be affliated to any other artiste management companies. GMMTV first teased the return of the programme in late-2023, as it unveiled its content showcase for this year.
The 2019 edition saw the then-15-year-old Fourth emerge as the male winner of the show, alongside Earn Preeyaphat as its female champion. Both of them were signed to GMMTV as artistes subsequently.
Also taking part was Gemini, who did not win but would later debut alongside Fourth in the immensely popular series My School President. The duo would later become Riser Music artistes, each producing a number of popular hits.
Other notable names to have emerged include GMMTV actor-singers ‘Ford’ Allan Asawasuebsakul and ‘Satang’ Kittiphop
