New music this week (29 July – 4 August)

1. Aftercry – PiXXiE

Aftercry, with its poignant lyrics, showcases a different – perhaps more vulnerable – side to PiXXiE. As some fans point out, the music video appears to track the group’s up and downs and paints a message of hope – “It will be better aftercry”.

2. Smash or Pass – 4EVE

Smash or Pass is the soundtrack to the animated film Out Of The Nest. It’s a danceable track with a rhythm that brings to mind other 4EVE bops like Jackpot.

3. หมาคาบเกิบ – Joey Phuwasit

Folk-rock star Joey Phuwasit is known for his references to the countryside in his music videos, and this latest MV – starring actor Rusameekae – is no different. The track is catchy, the dance moves are simple to follow, and the MV is beautifully shot in a Wes Anderson-resque style (complete with pink cows!)

4. Nobody Cares – Dreamgals

Dreamgals are back with their third single in as many weeks. Nobody Cares feels part diss track, part self-empowerment, and again showcases the vocal prowress of each of the three members.

5. อยู่ได้แล้ว – LIPTA feat. Mirrr

Lipta has teamed up with Mirrr to create this comeback track that they say will comfort people trying to move on from a past love.

6. เคาท์ดาวน์ (00:01) – Slapkiss feat. Maiyarap

Slapkiss’ newest song is a bittersweet countdown until the parting of ways, with a beautifully-written rap verse from the talented Maiyarap.

7. Pao Ying Chub! – LUSS feat. TangBadVoice

If there was a song that aptly describes the chaos of nightlife, let it be Pao Ying Chub!, which is the drinking game not unlike rock paper scissors. The duo of LUSS feature the sublime vocals of rapper TangBadVoice on this track.

8. BF – PUN feat. URBOYTJ

The follow-up single to Day One, this new track BF talks about moving from being best friends to…boyfriend (hence the ambiguous acronym!).

9. ไม่ง้อจะพอแล้วนะ (Enough) – QRRA

After a series of high-tempo songs, the girls from QRRA return with a mellow, pensive track that has surprised fans.
