New music this week (26 Aug – 1 Sep)
1. Trap U – DICE
The third single from the boys of DICE is a musical and visual treat altogether. Trap U is produced by The Richman Toy’s Jap and Phat55, giving the track an addictive trap-hop sound. The cherry on top is the banger of a dance break, with orchestral music overlaid on a electro-synth beat.
2. คลั่งเธอ (Dopamine) – Nont Tanont
This Amp Achariya-produced คลั่งเธอ (Dopamine) speaks of the emotions and the feeling of “crazy love”. The music video, with its mid-century dreamy vibes, is the first time Nont has done a single-take video.
3. Catch It! – PRETZ
PRETZ is the virtual alter-ego of girl group Pretzelle. The track, which is produced by Giga and TeddyLoid from Japan, is – true to its name – very catchy. The music video features the talented animation work of Tvchany.
4. ไม่พูดหน่อยเหรอ (Say Something) – Peck Palitchoke
It’s been a while since we last heard from White Music’s Peck Palitchoke, and his comeback single shows why he is the ‘king of sad songs’ – a pensive track about an ended relationship with no closure.
5. อยากมีเธอใกล้ๆ – KIN feat. Tad ATLAS
We’re getting Hong Kong wanderlust vibes with KIN’s newest single. This time the White Fox artiste pairs up with ATLAS member Tad Thapana – the first time the duo have worked together.
6. Kiss Kiss – Proxie
Proxie is back! After months of solo projects, the six-member boy group reunite for Kiss Kiss, an upbeat, almost-flirty bop that calls back to the trademark Proxie sound.
7. แค่จากนี้ไปเราไม่ปล่อยมือ (From Now On) – Tui Chayatorn
LYKN member Tui Chayatorn sings the OST to the GMMTV series Kidnap ลับ-จ้าง-รัก. The ballad nicely showcases Tui’s unique vocal quality, prompting fans to observe how underrated his singing prowress is.
8. เพื่อนกันเหรอ (Expired) – D-NA
BRIQ Entertainment soloist D-NA returns with her second single, a slow-tempo number with a distinctive 2000s ballad feel. The MV stars Proxie’s Victor (and we think their chemistry is great!).
9. ดิ่งดาวน์ (Down) – Alie Blackcobra
You might remember Alie Blackcobra for her uber-naughty track แอ่นระแนง(Arch). This time, she’s back, taking things down a notch with this R&B track that is oozing sensuality.
10. Chemical – URBOYTJ
It has been a while since we’ve gotten a URBOYTJ track, and not only has the hip-hop star gifted us with this pensive track, we’re also seeing – for the first time – him act in his own MV. The song is co-written with PUN, with whom URBOYTJ has worked with on several occasions.
