Joey Phuwasit pulled out all the stops at his first large-scale concert, treating fans to three hours of pure energy, raw emotion and great music.
The ‘Onson Day’ concert, held on 23 November at Thunder Dome Muang Thong Thani, was a three-hour affair that showcased Joey’s prowress in folk-rock.

In addition to showcasing his repertoire of songs, Joey – armed with the phin instrument that has become his trademark – delivered impressive covers of hits from Palmy, Silly Fools, Clash, as well as a very classy take on Bruno Mars’ Versace On the Floor.

Complementing all of that was the Gayray-designed set, which was as impressive as Joey’s stage presence. For instance, as Joey sang เดือนชนเดือน, dollar notes bearing the singer’s likeness flashed in rapid succession.
The concert also saw three special guest stars: fellow Genie Records artiste Lek Ratchamet, actress-singer Engfa Waraha and Slot Machine frontman Foet, all of whom performed together with Joey.
Lek, who was also on singing reality show The Voice Thailand, performed with Joey on the latter’s song โหยหา. With Foet, Joey put on his best rock persona, jointly covering Slot Machine’s เคลิ้ม and จันทร์เจ้า.
Engfa appeared as the final special guest, looking ethereal as she sang her introduction in morlam style. Joey joined her on stage for an very fun cover of the Bird Thongchai classic แฟนจ๋า.

But the star of the night was ultimately Joey – and at many occasions, it was clear he relished the moment as he weaved effortlessly between the high energy and the emotive.
He surprised fans with a walk-through, ultimately ending at a mini-stage in the middle of the hall. There, fans were treated to a more introspective side of Joey, unplugged and without the flashy set on the main stage.

He performed a trio of acoustic covers from Sek Loso, Clash and Pop Pongkool, eliciting a sing-a-long from the crowd.
Then came Joey’s (arguably) most iconic hit – นะหน้าทอง – which also got the crowd singing along, ending with gold flakes raining down.
The concert culiminated with Joey again in a smaller stage in the sea of fans, as Joey recounted the highs on lows of his musical journey. There was not a dry eye in audience as Joey broke down mid-reflection.
Amid a sea of handphone lights, Joey wraps up his first large-scale concert taking audiences to where it all started – with the single ดวงเดือน.
In three hours, it becomes clear why Joey is the poster child for the new generation of folk-rock. He dabbles in the new sound of rock but never forgets his folk roots, and most importantly – Joey kept the energy up from start to golden finish.
