The Voice Thailand has crowned its newest winner, capping off a competition that spanned more than six months.

Car mechanic ‘Changdaew’ Teerapong Wannaluck emerged as the winner of the singing reality show, beating out eight other finalists in the grand finals on 15 December.

The Roi Et native was one of the two finalists in ‘Team Kim’ – under the tutelage of veteran singer and judge Jennifer Kim.

Other judges include Kong Saharat, as well as TaitosmitH’s vocalist Jaii Itkron and singer Oat Pramote, both of whom are new on the judging panel this year. Singer Bowkylion later emerged as the ‘Comeback Stage’ judge.

Dressed in a simple black t-shirt and pants, Changdaew’s pared-back rendition of วันที่ได้คำตอบ (originally sung as a collab between Boy Peacemaker and lukthung legend Mike Phiromphorn) tugged at everyone’s heartstrings at the finals.

He eventually clinched the highest number of audience and viewer votes to beat out the competition. He wins 500,000 THB and will get a recording contract with Universal Music Thailand.

This year’s The Voice Thailand kicked off auditions in May in Chiang Mai and ran throughout the month in four cities in Thailand. It began airing on One31 in September.
