Thai singer-actor Pentor Jeerapat will debut in the new K-Pop boy group POLARIX, after emerging among the top nine in the idol survival show Starlight Boys.
The former LAZ1 member will be the Sino-Korean group’s sole Thai member. Pentor was ranked fifth – based on votes – in the finals on 28 December, earning close to 694,000 votes.
Pentor, who is now managed by Insight Entertainment, had consistently ranked in the top 10 in the competition.
While Pentor will be the sole Thai member of K-Pop group POLARIX, he was not the only Thai contestant. Of the 69 contestants, there were six who hailed from Thailand.
Pentor’s former LAZ1 groupmates – Daou, Offroad, Geler and Diamond – congratulated him on social media. On X, Daou wrote: “There is no dead end for those that do not give up.”
“I hope you will do well on the beautiful path you have created on your own,” he adds.
Offroad, meanwhile, paid tribute to Pentor’s “dedication and determination”.
