NuNew and his on-screen partner Zee Pruk will play the leading role in the first-ever musical series produced by DomundiTV.

Hug E-Lhee The Musical, or มนต์รักฮักอีหลี, also stars 4EVE member Hannah, as well as lukthung legends Hi Apaporn, Fon Tanasoontorn and Paowalee Pornpimon.

The musical was announced by DomundiTV on 20 February, alongside other upcoming series the production house, which also manages Zee and NuNew, is working on this year. Alongside the cast, Domundi also released a 14-minute pilot (which you can watch here)

NuNew plays the role of Noi, the son of a Som Tam seller, who dreams of making it as a lukthung star – much to the disdain of his mother. Zee, meanwhile, plays the role of Chang, the wastrel son of a wealthy man.

A chance encounter brings the two together, but there will be plenty of twists involved – if the pilot if anything to go by.

Not only will the musical see NuNew take on the lukthung genre, he will also be speaking in the Isan dialect – and play a pair of twins on screen.

No official release date has been named, but fans are already eagerly anticipating the series, with many calling it a “refreshing” and interesting take on the boys-love genre.
