BUS member Khunpol and Yupp! Entertainment’s Galchanie have apologised for social media posts using “inappropriate language” about the earthquake that hit Bangkok and other parts of Thailand.

The controversy surfaced after Khunpol posted a TikTok video on 31 March dancing to Galchanie’s viral track Baby Tee.
Commenting on the video on X, Galchanie said: “Losing balance, losing composure…can we call this an aftershock?” Khunpol then replied with: “It’s still shaking.”
Netizens quickly seized on the comments, calling them out for using insensitive language. Galchanie quickly apologised thereafter, and in a post on X said she would be “more careful and mindful” of her words in future.

Yupp! Entertainment on its part also issued a statement confirming it had issued a warning to Galchanie over the post.
On 1 April, Khunpol, as well as his label Sonray Music, responded to the controversy. Sonray said in a statement: “We recognise that, beyond the language used, sensitivity to social contexts and awareness of broader societal implications are of significant importance.”
It adds that Khunpol “has acknowledged the impact of his actions” and expresses “sincere regret”.
Writing on X, Khunpol admits “it was a mistake from not thinking carefully before posting on social media.”
“I will learn from this incident and improve myself to be more aware,” he adds.
The duo are the latest artistes to come under fire from netizens over social media comments following the devastating tremors to hit Bangkok.
On 29 March, GMMTV and Riser Music artiste Gemini earned the ire of netizens after a viral video clip of him purportedly making light of the tremors emerged. He later apologised and deleted the clip.
