Rapper S2 stands out – not just because of his towering presence, but also for his distinctive name.
S2 is the stage name for Thai-Korean actor Noeul Nuttarat, and is short for “sunset”, which is what Noeul means in Korean.
Music and acting have long been his two passions. Before he was an actor, he was a trainee at two South Korean entertainment agencies, where he trained in singing, dancing and rapping.
Back in Thailand, Noeul made his screen debut in 2022 as the lead in the boys-love series Love in the Air, under the Me Mind Y agency, where he shot to stardom.
And in a full-circle moment, in May 2024, S2 – the rapper alter-ego – stepped up to the musical stage.
ChaPop caught up with S2 at this year’s Summer Sonic Bangkok, where he was one of the opening acts for the first day of the festival.
Asked about being invited to perform at Summer Sonic Bangkok, S2 is understandably excited.
He says: “I feel very nervous because it is such a big stage for me. It’s my first time to perform in such a big stage, but I will do my best!”
Indeed, it marks a new milestone for the 26 year old, who made his foray into music over a year ago.
This year, I’m going to release an album, and (it will) have so many different styles of music. In the future, I will also have a concert…and world tour (in) so many countries.

In May 2024, S2 put out his first single SOS – a fiery introductory message to the doubters about who he was, and what he stood for.
He followed up that with his sophomore release No Ticket For Haters, where he doubles down on standing firm against those who doubted his music abilities.
S2 said the inspiration for that single came from the messages he received when he started in music, where he was “belittled” for being a boys-love actor trying to break into the music scene.
But, as the song shows, he believes he has proven his talents, and isn’t bothered by what the haters think.
According to S2, he made the jump from acting to music to fulfil a long-time dream of being a musical artiste. His musical influences include British rappers like 21 Savage, who was also performing at Summer Sonic Bangkok.
We asked if there was any difference from who Noeul is and who S2 is: “Noeul debut as an actor (with a) cute image, but S2 is a hip-hop rapper, so I think it’s very different.”
“But you know, S2 is Noeul, and Noeul is S2,” he adds, laughing.
For now, S2 will be busy working on his first album, which will be released this year. He also confirms a concert is in the works, and hopes to go on a world tour “to many countries”.
“This year, I’m going to release an album, and (it will) have so many different styles of music. In the future, I will also have a concert…and world tour (in) so many countries.
“I hope you guys will follow it and like it!” he adds.
