The cast of the hit series GelBoys were named Breakthrough Cast of the Year at the annual MChoice and Mint Awards 2025.

The four leads – New, Pide, PJ and Leon – were one of several winners of the category, with the casts of series like GMMTV’s High School Frenemy, Be On Cloud’s Shine also winning.

GelBoys, which aired in February-March this year, had won praise from fans for its plot – of viewing youth relationships from pop-culture lenses. The series also leans heavily into T-Pop songs of recent years, including 4EVE and Proxie.

The MChoice and Mint Awards 2025 – jointly organised by the MChoice agency and Mint Magazine – took place on 7 September at Bangkok’s True Icon Hall.

Apart from Breakthrough Cast of the Year, other awards given out include Phenomenon of the Year, as well as four public-voting categories.

GMMTV scored several wins, with its boys-love series Perfect 10 Liners winning Entertainment Programme of the Year. Actress Bonnie Pattraphus was voted Rookie of the Year, while Pond Naravit – also a Riser Music artiste – was voted as the Best of Mint Magazine’s Six Pack series.

The night saw a series of runway walks from several fashion houses, as well as performances from a range of T-Pop names, including PERSES, 4EVE, Proxie and BUS Because of you I shine.

Proxie took their act to the next level – performing as a fashion show alongside the Palm Angels runway show.

Fans were also treated to special collaboration stages, with Daou and Jackie Jackrin performing a breathtaking cover of Golden, the viral OST to the popular K-Pop Demon Hunter series.

It was also a reunion of the T-Pop rap liners, with XX (aka Porsche), Jung from PERSES and Victor from Proxie jointly performing a cover of Kendrick Lamar’s DNA.
