Rapper NICECNX has released his latest EP, leaning into his signature city pop sound.
City Boyz is a four-track EP, that explores love from four different perspectives. NICECNX, also known as Nice Bannuwat, worked closely with fellow rapper (and close friend) CDGuntee on the creation of the album.
The mood and tone of the album sticks to NICECNX’s forte of city pop love songs, but visually transports the listener to a “Neo Japan” future, blending contemporary Japanese influences with sci-fi elements.
The lead single from the EP is ร้องเพลงรัก, which features up-and-coming rapper Pondering. The track reflects the perspective of someone who, whenever he sings a love song, is reminded of the person he loves.
Indeed, the key theme of the album shows that no matter the era, love is a story that everyone can relate to.
NICECNX says this of his return: “Love is a mixture of happiness and sadness, occurring…as long as we still feel the urge to love. (Because) love, no matter the era, is universal…everyone experiences it.”
