As the biennial SEA Games gets underway in Thailand, one sport is gradually gaining attention, thanks to a good dose of T-Pop star power.

Fans are gradually warming up – quite literally – to ice hockey, with the Thai men’s national team having two T-Pop stars on their slate.

GMMTV’s Kin Thanachai and Sonray Music trainee Peem Tanat have been heating up the rinks in recent games, with fans thronging the stands to cheer them – and Team Thailand – on.

Kin, who was formerly a soloist with White Fox, represented Thailand at the Asian Winter Games earlier this year.

He was also part of the national youth team at the Under-20 Asia and Oceania Championship in 2022, where the team took home the championship of that year.

Meanwhile, Sonray’s Peem, who is the younger brother of BUS Because of you i shine member Phutatchai, is also on Thailand’s U-20 national team.

Thailand first took on Malaysia on 11 December, thrashing the latter 14-0. They then went against Indonesia, where they narrowly lost 2-3.

In its most recent game on 14 December, Team Thailand beat Singapore 7-3.
