‘The Voice Thailand’ has been renewed for a new season in 2024, with auditions set to begin in May in four cities across the country.
Show producers announced the return of the singing competition on 11 April, with the message: “The sound you miss is coming back again.”
Auditions will kick off on 3 May in Chiang Mai for a three-day period, moving to Hat Yai from 10-12 May. A week later, auditions will take place in Nakhon Ratchasima for three days, before ending in Bangkok on 23 May.
According to contest rules, the auditions are open to anyone aged between 15 and 75 years old, with a cap on 800 applications per audition day.
The newest season will be the franchise’s ninth, and its first season post-pandemic. It is unclear when the show will air on television.
The Voice Thailand used to air on Channel 3 in its first six seasons, before moving to PPTV for the subsequent two seasons. An all-stars season aired on One31 – the franchise’s newest network – in 2022.
Since its beginnings in 2012, the show has launched the careers of many T-Pop artistes, including the likes of Nont Tanont (who won the first season), Bowkylion, Violette Wautier, Joey Phuwasit and Zweed n’ Roll lead singer ‘Pat’ Sutipat.
Past judges have included Kong Saharat, Jennifer Kim, Joey Boy and Pop Pongkool.
