They’re coming in like a tornado: Whoop Music boy group VVV may only made their debut in February this year, but the trio are already making waves (or VVVaves?) in the T-Pop scene.

VVV comprises members Janus, Junior and Jeewath. They were formerly known as What The Duck trainees, and are mentored by The Toys.

In late 2025, the group released their pre-debut single ตัวปัญหา (ENVY), showcasing their music for the first time. In February this year, VVV officially made their debut, launching the upbeat (and very cute) single Nerdy.

The group was in Singapore – for the first time – to perform for the Music is Universal showcase at Music Matter Live 2026. Singapore is the latest international city for the group, having also performed in Tokyo earlier this year as part of the Thai Festival Tokyo 2026.

The group also released their latest single VIVA วิวาห์, and on 14 October held a busking session, where they revealed the name of their fandom – ‘VIVY’ – marking a new milestone in their musical journey.

ChaPop sat down with the group in Singapore to find out how it was performing in Singapore, and to talk all about their musical journey so far.

Best memory since debut

We asked what the group’s most memorable experience in the time since their debut has been. This is what Janus had to say:

I think the most memorable experience is probably our debut itself. I think it’s because we spent a lot of time practicing, and also, like it’s our debut, so of course we wanted to turn out the best, and I think the energy on that day was very good, and there were so many fans cheering for us.

The 22-year-old adds that one scene he vividly recalls was when they were walking backstage.

I remember when we were walking towards the backstage, and…then all the fans and all the people watching stood up and then clapped for us. That really gave us the positive energy to be able to perform on that day, so it was very lovely and memorable.

Jeewath, meanwhile says it was being able to perform overseas – like in Singapore.

Each (city) gave us a good response…and it made us feel warm and feel like, hey, there are still people who watch and support us.

Agreeing, Junior said his best memory happened when the group performed in Laos, as part of the L.I.T. Pop Music Festival.

There were people singing, they sang Happy Birthday to me, so I was very happy, I felt like, yeah, I’m glad I was there. At that time I felt proud and happy to be there.

Favourite song to perform

With the release of VIVA วิวาห์, VVV now have five singles in their name, from the upbeat and cutesy Nerdy to the smouldering Tornado.

Jeewath and Janus both point to their pre-debut track ตัวปัญหา (ENVY) as their favourite track to perform.

Jeewath says he identifies with the emotion and melody of the single.

Given the musical style and the tone of the lyrics, I’m able to really get into the vibe—it feels like I’m soaring within the song. There’s a sense of love, yet the melody remains beautiful. Every time I perform it…it feels wonderful, and I’m able to truly connect with the emotion behind every single note.

As for Janus, he chose the pre-debut track for its significance as the group’s first-ever single. He adds that the tone and lyrics “give off a very unique vibe”.

Everytime we sing it, we feel like we go back to the first day when we performed it.

Junior offers a different take, choosing เจ้าชายของแก (My Queen) as his favourite single for its catchiness and energy.

It delivers a certain kind of energy to the listener, and it’s also incredibly catchy. I hope everyone will give it a listen…this track really captures the character of the group perfectly.

Performing in Singapore

We also asked the trio how the experience was performing in Singapore, especially since it was their first time in the city. The group was part of the Music Is Universal line-up, which also saw other up-and-coming acts in Southeast Asia.

Janus says the group was “very nervous” at the start:

(This) is our first time performing as well…so we were talking among ourselves (and) just wondering (if) will they be able to sing our song? Will they know us?

But as soon as we walk out, we hear all the fans shouting – and when we performed ‘Tornado’ our latest single – everybody was just singing along, that made us feel so full of gratitude. I just really want to express our gratitude.

There was also a second incident at the Singapore show that left a deep impression. Janus recounts:

When we were performing, there was a family who walked past us, and I I saw them. They were looking at us at first, and they were just confused about what language we were singing in. And then after that they started to take interest, and they walked (closer to) the stage…to see us perform, and I think that’s very surprising for me because although we sing in a foreign language, they took interest in us. That makes us feel very glad. So thank you to that family, especially.

Dream collabs

Given their rising popularity in Thailand and around the region, we find out who the group hopes to work with in the future. Some interesting acts came up, with Janus hoping to work with Malaysian girl group DOLLA (who were also at the Music Is Universal event).

From this trip right now, I feel like after talking to DOLLA and hearing their music, I think we really want to collab with DOLLA. Also, we also come in a group of three (laughs) and I feel they have very unique Afro-style music that we would like to experience. They’re very kind, they’re very lovely, so yeah, DOLLA all the way!

Jeewath names Korean rapper Jay Park as his “inspiration”.

I find him cool, and he’s the one who inspired me to want to become an artist…he’s like the artiste who opened the door. Seeing him makes me think that, perhaps one day, if it’s at all possible, we could do the same.

Junior took a while to consider his dream collab, eventually settling for a familiar name, who is none other than group mentor The Toys. It elicited laughter from the rest of the group, but Junior explains:

Since he already works with us as a producer, I’d like to take our collaboration a step further, by having him feature on a track.

Message for inter fans

The group also gave a message for their growing international fanbase, with Janus saying the group is grateful for always supporting the group. He has this to say:

I’m always so happy whenever international fans come to see us. I often worry about whether anyone will show up, but international fans are always there, watching us and supporting us. I want to express my deepest thanks to all of you.

I also hope you’ll keep an open mind and listen to our music – not just ours, but music from other Thai artists as well. We are committed to creating high-quality work with the goal of reaching an international audience, and we truly hope for your continued support, both from fans abroad and here in Thailand, to help us get there.
