New music this week (16-22 September)
1. กักกั๊ก (GUGGUG) – 4EVE feat. Gee
4EVE’s newest track features actor Gee Sutthirak (he also has guest vocals on the track!) and is a whimsical take on crushes. The pop-rock sound – almost reminiscent of the 2000s – is new terrority for the girl group, whose discography is usually heavily pop.
2. วันเกิดเธอ (To You) – Phuwin
GMMTV actor Phuwin is Riser Music’s newest artiste, and his new track comes days after joining the label. The track, a ballad that nicely shows off Phuwin’s vocal and piano skills, was so highly anticipated by fans that it trended in the days after being released.
3. เจ็บก็สิอดเอา (Stay Strong) – Mang Bamm
On-screen couple Daou Pittaya and Offroad Kantapon star in the music video to เจ็บก็สิอดเอา (Stay Strong), which sees Bamm member Mang Piyatida make her solo debut. She sings – and raps – in the Isaan dialect, which adds to the wistful, heartwrenching vibe of the track.
4. นี่ฉันเองคนที่… (It’s me) – Purpeech
Purpeech’s newest single speaks about falling in love in an indirect – but romantic – way, and the music video is every bit kitschy 80s, with a TV gameshow set and all.
5. หายใจแล้วไปต่อ – Labanoon x Num Kala
The third single from the Genie 100×100 project sees a collaboration between Num Kala and Labanoon (whom we have not heard from in a while). The emotional ballad uses the ferris wheel as a metaphor for the cycle of life – paired with the haunting line “I just have to breathe and keep moving on”. Prepare the tissues – you’ve been warned.
