The annual Nanglen Music Festival took place on 14 December, bringing together 10 of Thai music’s best for a one-day music fiesta.

The 8th edition – organised by GMM Show – was held at the Thongsomboon Club in Khao Yai, a week after the Big Mountain Music Festival (BMMF) which also took place around Khao Yai.

The festival grounds were transformed into “a place to relax and heal the hearts” of festival-goers, says GMM Show. The dress theme (yes, there was a dress code!) was Bohemian and the set designs were made up to fit the theme, with psychedlic prints and plenty of flower power.

Opening the festival was Pop Pongkool, followed by Tilly Birds, and Nont Tanont. By evening-time, Jeff Satur took to the stage, then Three Man Down, Tattoo Colour – who were making their Nanglen debut – Palmy, Joey Phuwasit and Potato.

Closing the festival were GeneLab legends Cocktail, who made their final Nanglen appearance before disbanding next year.

If Big Mountain was the big-scale flagship event, then Nanglen has proved itself to be the cool (in many ways) sister music event with a bespoke line-up and a slate of fun activities.
