GNEST’s newest act has officially made their debut, bringing with them a burst of positive energy and brightness.
The eight-member FAVIQ released their debut single Your FAV on 20 May, an upbeat pop track with elements of modern rock.
The song, produced by Billy of Tilly Birds, tells the story of secretly liking someone but not yet having the courage to confess directly, instead expressing feelings through small gestures, smiles, and meaningful moments together.
The MV showcases an endearing chaotic side of the group, where the eight members end up filming the MV themselves in an unscripted and playful atmosphere.
The name FAVIQ comes from the word ‘Favourite’ and ‘Freaking Awesome Vibes’ – and the boys live up to that moniker through their debut single. The group created the name to reflect their goal of becoming everyone’s “favourite”.
FAVIQ also had a hand in contributing lyric ideas and helping design the song’s dance challenge choreography.
On 21 May the group, which comprises members Names, Blink, Peem, Cheva, Zen, Than, as well as twins Jeffrey and Joey, held their debut stage. At the event, they treated fans to the first live performance of Your FAV, as well as covers of other big pop hits, showcasing not their performing and singing prowress.
The event was attended by labelmates VIIS, PERSES, Tigger and trainee girl group CHERIS. Also present were friends from the industries, including boy groups like VVV, LE7EL and CIR*CRL.
FAVIQ was one of two trainee groups under GNEST. They spent between two to four years training intensively in the lead-up to their debut.
