The year has seen many musical collaborations – some more high-profile than others. ChaPop looks at which combos stood out this year.

Leave It All Behind – Bodyslam x F.HERO x Babymetal

As far as collabs go, this one stands out – it’s multi-national and cross-genre, yet the song comes together very nicely. Kudos to F.HERO for bringing rock legends Bodyslam and Japanese kawaii metal band Babymetal together.

แผลเป็น – Bodyslam (Feat. Jeff Satur)

Bodyslam’s had a good year, and it also shows in the types of collaborations they’ve picked up. Apart from working with Babymetal, this partnership with Jeff Satur is genius – it allows Jeff to showcase his singing chops on a Bodyslam track, and gives Bodyslam visibility to Jeff’s younger fans (and let’s not even get started on the beautifully-shot MV!)

HEY HEY – MILLI feat. ฮาย อาภาพร

Sticking to cross-genre collabs, we have Milli working alongside lukthung queen Hi Apaporn to create this iconic party anthem (and in time for Songkran!). Like the Bodyslam-Jeff Satur collab, this is also a smart move as it gives Milli access into folk-pop, while Hi Apaporn gets introduced to a younger fanbase.

สาริกาลิ้นทอง – Paper Planes x Joey Phuwasit

It’s clear to see why (and how) this collab has gained more than 47 million Youtube views in just three months. Many have praised the song – released under Genie Records’ 100×100 project – as a combination of “two quality performers”, and we agree. The catchy fusion of folk rock and pop rock makes for solid listening, while the song’s theme is relatable.

ลูกคุณหนู – MEYOU feat. PUN

Two good-lookers working together in a song? Count us in! MEYOU marked his return to his R&B roots (after a brief and successful detour into ballad-making) with this collab, working alongside PUN for ลูกคุณหนู. The two have good chemistry, with PUN’s rap verses nicely complimenting MEYOU’s lush vocals.

โอ้ละหนอไอ้แฟนเก่า – BADMIXY feat. SIN

BADMIXY in 2024 rose to the role of queer pop icon with a growing list of new song releases and collabs. This track sees her working with pop veteran SIN, whose mellow vocals are a good contrast to BADMIXY’s. We also need to mention her collaboration with Riser Music actor-singer Win Metawin for NIGHT RIDE (ดึกมากแล้ว).
