Mixed-gender group 4MIX are leaving their label 411 Records, in a surprise announcement on New Year’s Day.
The fate of the four-member group remains unclear for now. 411 Records in a statement confirms the “termination of the artist contract…and the conclusion of their collaboration” effective immediately.
It did not elaborate further if this meant a disbandment of the group.
“The company will continue to support and encourage the members of 4MIX in their future endeavors,” the label adds.
4MIX, which comprises members Ninja, Mcka, Folksong and George, are among a rare number of mixed T-Pop groups.
The news, which has stunned fans, comes weeks after the group marked its third anniversary amid uncertainty about their future. In June, released what would be their last single under 411 Records, Walk Walk.
They made their debut in 2021 under the now-defunct Khaosan Entertainment, bursting into the scene with the track Y U Comeback. 4MIX later joined 411 Records in 2022 after the collapse of Khaosan Entertainment.
The group enjoys a strong international following, especially in Latin America and Europe. They had a widely-attended showcase in Mexico City, and had been touring Paris and parts of the USA.
Responding to the news, 4MIX members expressed their gratitude to their fans, but hinted that it was not all smooth-sailing before their contract ended. George wrote on X: “We’ve been through a lot. Thanks a lot for supporting us.”
