Organisers of this year’s Summer Sonic Bangkok music festival have released their initial line-up, with T-Pop boy group BUS Because of you I shine set to make their festival debut.

The Sonray Music group is the first Thai act to confirm their attendance for this year’s Summer Sonic Bangkok. More Thai artistes are understood to also be announced in the coming days.

Organisers also revealed six other names for the two-day festival, including Western acts like Camila Cabelo and Black Eyed Peas; Japanese groups like BE:FIRST and Babymetal, as well as Korean indie band The Rose.

For BUS, their participation at this year’s Summer Sonic Bangkok follows the success of their first-ever large-scale concert in Bangkok. The group, which made their debut late-2023, sold out three nights at Impact Arena for their BUS Light The World concert.

Summer Sonic Bangkok is into its second edition this year, and will be held on 23 and 24 August at Impact Challenger Hall.

Summer Sonic held its first international edition outside of Japan in Bangkok last year, with the two-day event featuring a mix of Japanese, Thai, Asian and Western acts.

They include the likes of Bodyslam, Getsunova, Violette Wautier, Yoasobi, OneRepublic, Travis Japan and Boynextdoor.
