Idol survival show Chuang Asia 2 has announced the seven trainees to debut in its new boy group NexT1DE.

The top seven trainees were announced on 6 April at the grand finale of Chuang Asia 2, which is created by China’s Tencent.

The members comprise two Thai trainees, as well as five from China. They are: Dorn and Thi-O (from Thailand), as well as Hu Yetao, Shen, Omar, Xiong and Yao Zihao from China. They were among 60 contestants selected during auditions in mid-2024.

At the finale, the top 21 trainees performed in groups, covering several T-Pop hits including BUS Because of you I Shine’s Liar, as well as PERSES’ Bodyguard.

After their official debut during the finale, NEXT1DE performed their first song – also called NEXT1DE – together.

The group already has worked lined up: according to their schedules, they are scheduled to appear at Siam Paragon’s ‘Summersive Happiness in Full Bloom’ event on 14 April.

They will then appear at Waterbomb Hainan music festival in late-April, followed by the Galaxy Left Bank Music Festival in Foshan, also in China.

T-Pop fans may find Thi-O familiar – he was one half of the short-lived pop duo Thi-O and Tutor between March 2023 and March 2024 after winning the reality show The Two.

Thi-O had a brief solo career thereafter, releasing a mini-album before he joined Chuang Asia 2.

The first season of Chuang Asia saw female trainees compete, culminating in the formation of the multi-national girl group Gen1es.
