Jaonaay and Jaokhun have signed with Sony Music Thailand, adding to the label’s slate of Thailand-based artistes.
The move to sign the brothers also comes amid Sony’s “strategic push to champion local talent and amplify Thai artists and songs internationally”, the company states.
Jaonaay and Jaokhun, who are currently managed by their own agency Jaymidi, will also be releasing new music – their first under Sony – in the second half of the year.
The brothers, who are sons of Y2K icon J Jetrin, say in a joint statement: “We are ready to explore new sounds, push ourselves, and try things we have never done before. With their global reach and strong legacy in shaping music worldwide, Sony Music Thailand’s support will push us to think bigger and bolder.”
Sony Music president for Asia and Middle East Shridhar Subramaniam: “Jaonaay and Jaokhun are redefining what it means to be an artist in today’s world with their strong sense of self and a passion for creative expression.”
Apart from Jaonaay and Jaokhun, other Thai artistes signed to Sony include the rappers CDGuntee and Ben Bizzy, as well as indie duo _less.
