The second edition of Summer Sonic Bangkok brought together thousands of fans – and a star-studded line-up of Thai, Asian and Western artistes – for a weekend of high energy and powerful music.

This year’s Summer Sonic Bangkok returned to Impact Challenger Hall, transforming the exhibition halls into a “city of music”.

Headlining the concert were Western acts Black Eyed Peas and Alicia Keys, but T-Pop (and other Thai) artistes equally held their own, especially given it was their first time at the festival.

BUS because of you i shine, who performed on the festival’s first day on 23 August, brought the house down with their medley of hits, including their latest single Boss In The Building, as well as Liar and Watch Your Step.

BUS later told ChaPop that it was a “refreshing” experience to be at Summer Sonic Bangkok, because of its different audience.

On Day Two, Wayfer Records’ Jeff Satur repped T-Pop with a captivating performance (that was definitely too short!) that was equal parts high-energy and sentimental.

Other Thai acts at the music festival include up-and-comer luk thung star Lamyai Haithongkham, whose over-the-top, high energy setlist had everyone up on their feet (and it was only 1pm!).

At the smaller Thonburi stage were T-Pop groups NEVONE and Wizzle, along with labelmate D-NA, as well as rising singer-songwriter guncharlie and actor-rapper S2, who joined other Thai and regional acts, showcasing the diversity in Asian music.

The event is organised by Bangkok Connect, in collaboration with Paradise E&A and Japan’s Creativeman Productions, and with Bangkok’s CI Showbiz as local partner.

“The energy across these two days has proven that Bangkok has risen as one of the global hubs for music festivals. By uniting international, Asian, and Thai artists on one stage, the festival created not just fun and memories, but also a reflection of the ‘borderless power of music’ that connects hearts across the world,” organisers state.
