What started out as being on the same festival line-up has now blossomed into a full-fledged musical collab.
Tilly Birds has teamed up with Philippines’ folk-pop band Ben&Ben for Heaven, an English-language track that (very aptly) talks about meeting someone at the right time and the feeling of heaven on earth.
The upbeat track – with its catchy hook ‘Heaven is hard to find / How did we meet in this timeline?’ – has been more than a year in the making.
The two bands first crossed paths at 2024’s Banyak Bagus Festival in Kuala Lumpur, where they were both on the same line-up.
Tilly Birds frontman Third told a Billboard Philippines interview that the two acts hit it off immediately following their first meeting, setting in motion plans that would eventually lead to the collab.
For Tilly Birds, the track is the latest in a string of English-language hits. In July, the Gene Lab band released Never A Waste of Time, and in 2024 released tracks like White Pills and Retro-39.
