Two of Only Monday’s members have broken their silence on the ongoing controversy the band is embroiled in, denying their involvement and expressing their disappointment at the state of affairs.

Drummer Frame Katawut and bassist Prod Varis issued separate statements hours after label Gene Lab said it would be suspending all scheduled engagements effective immediately, and removing the band’s music from streaming platforms.

Vocalist Tee Teepakorn, who is at the centre of the ongoing controversy, has not responded yet. ChaPop understands that the latest controversy is linked to Tee’s former girlfriend ‘Bell’, and an alleged leak of explicit images.

Frame and Prod stressed that they “were not involved in any way” in the alleged leak, adding that they did not condone such actions.

Prod states: “As a band member, I apologise to everyone who has been affected by the incident. It’s an incident that should have never happened to anyone. I’m deeply saddened and shocked by this incident.”

Frame, meanwhile, says the matter is a personal issue: “We all know our own positions within the group and what we should not interfere with.”

Nonetheless, the two members said it was very disappointing that the situation had culminated in the band’s eventual cancellation.

Prod, in his statement, says: “It wasn’t easy getting to where we are today. Our path as artistes wasn’t strewn with rose petals. But today, everything has come crashing down.

He adds: “It’s so heartbreaking.”

Frame, meanwhile, struck a more sombre tone, saying that “this time…it was too much for my own mind to handle”.

“I’m tired of having to constantly solve so many problems. All the efforts over the past five years have all collapsed,” he writes.

The two statements drew some support from fans and friends from the music industry. It is the first time the duo have spoken up about the string of controversies to have hit the band.

In July, Tee was embroiled in controversy in July this year, following allegations he had cheated on ‘Bell’ on more than 10 occasions while they were together.
