GMM Music and Warner Music Asia have jointly launched a new record label GLIIDE, which promises a “new model” for artiste development.

The new label says it views artist development as a “design process”, as opposed to having to rush for results.

As its name suggests, the label draws in inspiration from the glider, whose movement does not rely on force, but on lift and wind direction. Similarly, GLIIDE touts itself the ‘lift’ for its artistes: taking into consideration their potential to go far at the Asian and global level.

The fledgling label has already began teasing who its first artiste will be, through a series of artistic – yet cryptic – social media posts.

‘SVRN’ (pronounced as ‘Sovereign’) is an artiste who uses “visuals, sound, and movement as their primary language to communicate their identity”, says GLIIDE.

Full details of the who the artiste will be revealed soon, but fans have already made a few guesses – chief among them former Trinity member Porsche Sivakorn.

GLIIDE is the latest of joint ventures GMM Music has announced in recent weeks: other labels include G&LDH, with Japan’s LDH; as well as GX10 Asia, collaborating with China’s Tencent Music Entertainment.
