The nominees for the first-ever Sound of Thailand (SOT) Music Award have been released ahead of the award ceremony on 24 June.

Hip-hop artistes MILLI and YoungOhm – as well as pop-rock band ASIA7 – swept the nominations, each receiving five award nods.

Following close behind are T-Pop’s BILLKIN and Ink Waruntorn, with four nominations.

The first edition of the SOT Music Awards saw nominations across a myriad of categories, spanning genres from pop, rock to folk and world music.

MILLI and YoungOhm were nominated for Artiste of the Year, Album of the Year and Best Hip-Hop/Rap/R&B Song.

MILLI was also nominated for Best Female Solo Artiste, as well as Record of the Year (for Heavyweight), while YoungOhm was up for Best Male Solo Artiste and Song of the Year (forใจฉันตามเธอไป).

Ink Waruntorn, meanwhile, received nominations for Artiste of the Year, Album of the Year, Best Pop Song, as well as Best Female Solo Artiste.

BILLKIN is up for Best Male Solo Artiste, and his collaboration song with BOYdPOD I’m OK // Not OK is nominated in three categories: Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Pop Song.

The winners are decided through a jury vote, comprising industry professionals such as other artistes, record labels and music production teams.

The awards will be presented on 24 June at One Bangkok Forum. You can watch the livestream and get the full list of nominations on SOT Music Awards’ official social media pages.
