GMMTV has fired 15-year-old new hire Justin Moir, days after it emerged he had engaged with far-right and homophobic social media content.
The abrupt termination – effective immediately – comes as part of a shake-up within the agency.
In a statement issued 17 July, GMMTV says it has “taken note of the concerns” raised by fans.
In the days leading up to the termination, controversial reposts from Justin’s TikTok account were resurfaced online, allegedly showing the 15-year-old reposting and liking misogynistic and homophobic content, including some alluding to violence.
“GMMTV wishes to affirm that it does not condone any behaviour or content that promotes violence, sexism, discrimination, or the dissemination of material that may incite hatred in any form,” the agency states.
“These values are fundemental to how we operate as a company,” GMMTV adds.
Justin had only recently joined GMMTV and was one of the main leads in the ongoing BL series When Oranges Fall.
Meanwhile the agency also announced it was signing back singer-actor TYTAN, who left the agency six years ago.
He is the latest singer-actor to join GMMTV in recent weeks, after the likes of Jackie Jackrin, Kin Thanachai and Paeyah Nippitcha (formerly from QRRA and BNK48).
TYTAN had starred in several GMMTV series, including the Water Boyy BL series. He left the agency to pursue a music career with 411 Entertainment.
