While new music releases are a dime a dozen these days, very rarely do you get two boy groups releasing their newest singles an hour apart from each other.
On 26 June, that rare occurrence took place, when Sonray Music group DICE released their highly-anticipated second single โคตรชอบเลยอ่ะ (Hey! I Like You) at 6pm (Bangkok time).
An hour later, XOXO Entertainment boy group ATLAS dropped their newest single เข็ดมั้ยล่ะ? (REPEAT).
At first listen, both tracks are very different in how they sound: DICE brought a more upbeat pop sound coupled with preppy college vibes, while ATLAS’ track brings to mind a Western Pop boyband from the 2000s (complete with Y2K fashion).
To be fair, both release dates were already announced weeks prior, but as 26 June drew nearer, the internet chatter over the coincidental release date only intensified.
But as both songs went live, fans were indeed spoilt for choice. One even remarked (on ATLAS’s MV): “Releasing…on the same day as DICE, why is being a mother feel so tiring but good?” Another fan agreed and said they “switched back and forth” between both songs.
