Bright Vachirawit has made his stage comeback after a hiatus of over two months, as he performed at Japan’s Summer Sonic Festival.
The singer-actor was one of the four Thai acts to feature at this year’s Summer Sonic, which took place on 17-18 August in Tokyo and Osaka. The other three are: Violette Wautier, The Toys and rock legends Bodyslam.
Bright performed in Tokyo on 17 August before heading to Osaka the next day. Writing on social media, the 26-year-old says: “Thank you for coming to see me today. Hope you guys had fun! I’m glad that we could share this precious moment together.”
Bright will stay on in Tokyo for the week – appearing on NHK’s Music Expo on 22 August, before returning to Bangkok to perform at the Thailand edition of Summer Sonic.
The Japan outing marks the first time he has performed since he took part in The Kingdoms concert in June, where he drew flak for a lacklustre show. Bright, who was one of the four acts alongside The Toys, Jeff Satur and Nont Tanont, forgot his lyrics and sang off-key on several occasions.
He has also been embroiled in several other controversies of late, most recently sparking a social media storm after posting photographs of war tanks and other weapons while on a trip to the United States. Bright has since apologised.
