Riser Music girl group Sizzy has disbanded after the contract of one of its members – GMMTV actress Jane Ramida – expired.
In a joint statement, Riser and GMMTV say that the members have “mutually agreed to end all activities under the name Sizzy” after a series of discussions.
Together with fellow GMMTV actresses Jan Ployshompoo, Aye Sarunchana and Ciize Apichaya, Jane was picked to form Sizzy in November 2019 under what was then known as GMMTV Records.
They were later moved to Riser Music after the label was set up in 2023, where they were managed alongside boy group LYKN and other GMMTV singer-actors.
However, the group has remained under the radar for most of 2023 and 2024, only releasing a special collaboration track with LYKN in 2023 – Hui Lay Hui – for GMMTV’s Starlympic event.
They have no released new music this year, sparking concern among fans about the group’s fate.
Following the split, Jan, Aye and Ciize will remain as GMMTV artistes, though it is unclear if they will continue their music career.
Writing on social media, a “heartbroken” Jane says the time spent as a Sizzy member “was the best in my life”.
“You are not just band members, but friends…and sisters. Sorry we didn’t fight together till the end,” she adds.
Meanwhile, Aye says she was “sad that we have come to the end of our journey as Sizzy”.
She adds: “However, these past 4 years, being a part of Sizzy has also become a big part of me. We have made so much memorable moments together as Sizzy.”
Addressing the group’s fandom – known as Fizzy – she says: “I hope you guys (won’t) be sad or frustrated for long, and let’s…move forward together for whatever the new chapter will bring us 4.”
