Actor-singers Win Metawin and Jeff Satur, as well as boy group BUS Because of you I shine, were given top honours at the GQ Men of the Year awards.
Riser Music solo artiste Win was awarded Thailand’s Global Star of the Year. In his citation, GQ notes that Win is the owner of popular macaron brand Souri with an aim for the global stage.
Jeff received the award for Actor of the Year, with the magazine citing his role in the critically-acclaimed flick The Paradise of Thorns. The movie is Jeff’s debut on the big screen.
As for BUS, they were named Breakout Band of the Year by GQ, who called them “outstanding and eye-catching artistes”.
Writing on social media, a grateful Jeff admits he was not the most “confident in acting” when he started out.
He adds that the award is an encouragement to not be afraid – “we might fall in love with something we were afraid of,” he writes.
Jeff was also joined at the awards dinner – held in Bangkok – by his co-stars Keng Harit and Toey Pongsakorn.
The awards are an annual affair: in 2023, Bright Vachirawit won the global star award, while Riser Music actor-singers Fourth Nattawat and Gemini Norawit were the breakout artistes of the year. Three Man Down were named Band of the Year.
