This year’s Asia Artist Awards saw a good dose of T-Pop star power, as it took place in Bangkok on 27 December for the first time in its nine-year history.

The annual awards, presented by South Korea-based media company StarNews, saw special guest BUS Because of you I shine burning up the stage with their live performance of Liar and Transformer.

Clad in spiffy all-black suits, BUS charmed a screaming arena of fans (physical and virtually) with their live vocals and dance moves.

The group would later go on to be one of many winners in the Best Artist Award – Music category.

BUS were announced as special guests at the event, which was predominantly attended by K-Pop’s biggest names like NewJeans and Le Sserafilm.

BUS member Peemwasu caused a stir before the event, capturing fans’ attention when he broke the fourth wall on camera (and smiled) during the pre-event red carpet.

Also present were Riser Music actor-singers Fourth Nattawat and Gemini Norawit, who received a special ‘Thai Star Award’. The duo, who are actors under GMMTV, also performed the live version of their song ลบยัง (Re-move on).

The Asia Artist Awards is held annually to honour the achievement of Korean artistes in Asian television, film and music.

It started in 2016 and was in South Korea, before moving to other Asian countries. The event was held in Manila in 2023 and in Jakarta the year before.

Story updated with BUS’ award win.
