BUS Because of you I shine label Sonray Music has vowed to “find appropriate solutions” after it faced backlash from fans over wide-ranging issues, including the management of artiste activities and benefits for the group’s upcoming concert.
The acknowledgement comes amid growing frustration among BUS fans, culminating in a joint effort to unfollow BUS’ Instagram account en masse in a bid to force Sonray to act.
The hashtag #sonrayโปรดฟังเสียงผู้บริโภค also trended on X, where fans called on the label to listen to their feedback.
In a statement issued 12 January, Sonray said it was aware of what it called “ongoing discussions and concerns”, but did not name these issues.
“(We) would like to assure that the team is currently in meetings to find appropriate solutions. However, due to the complexity of the situation, which involves collaboration with multiple parties, it requires careful consideration and time to find the suitable solution for all involved,” it adds.
A list that went viral on X called the label out on several things. These include: lack of Youtube content – including vlogs, special dance performances – and generally slow and repetitive uploads; as well as BUS’ concert benefits.
BUS will be holding their first-ever large-scale concert – BUS Light The World – in March this year. While tickets have yet to go on sale, organisers have released the seating plan and benefits chart.
Fans lamented the lack of benefits – even for the costliest tickets, priced at 6,500 THB – and a lack of information over a members-only pre-sale.
Sonray in its response did not address the frustrations directly, nor did it apologise outright. However, it stresses it is “committed” to creating a “positive experience” for all involved.
“We would like to confirm our intentions are sincere, and we are committed to ensuring everything is done to create a positive experience for everyone,” says the label.
