New music for the week of 17-23 March.
BANG! – DICE
Released in time for their first anniversary, DICE’s newest banger is oozing attitude. BANG! reminds us an old-school hip-hop track, topped off with an ultra-catchy chorus. The boys sport a very different look – perhaps a nod to their coming of age – as they deftly execute their dance moves.
ซึมซับ (Doubtless) – Fourth
Riser Music’s Fourth is usually known for his upbeat, cutesy songs, but with ซึมซับ (Doubtless), the actor-singer takes on a more slower and pensive vibe. Indeed, Fourth himself says he wanted to try a new style of music, and had put in a lot of homework in preparation for his first slow track. The track is giving Timethai from the 2010s vibe, but with Fourth’s trademark voice lending its own charm.
โหลยโท่ย (POOR BOY) – DAOU
Daou leans into his Chinese heritage for his newest single, which we think might just be one of the new viral tracks for the week. Inspired by the Chinese Qing Ming festival (or tomb sweeping day), the track even samples bits of Chinese opera and instruments for its melody.
ลอง (Reputation) – Gorn Proxie
Proxie returns to its solo projects, and Gorn kicks us off with ลอง (Reputation), where he showcases his finesse in the guitar and songwriting – no wonder they call him The Guitar Man of T-Pop!
Trigger – NEVONE
NEVONE channels its cool and fierceness for its latest track, which is produced by renown producer MAYOJAMES. Trigger features the catchy line “You pull me like a trigger” which will definitely have fans singing along.
กลับไปใช้ชีวิตแบบเดิม – Guncharlie
After a string of hits in 2024 talking about parting from a relationship, Guncharlie’s first single for the year provides some form of closure. The Kicks Records wunderkind says the track is like “the final step in ending a relationship, which is accepting the truth of being alone again”.
ต่อให้โลกไม่มีแสงจันทร์ (Silent Moon) – Proo Thunwa
Talk about the whole package: for ต่อให้โลกไม่มีแสงจันทร์ (Silent Moon), Proo Thunwa, wrote, composed, produced *and* played all the instruments on the track himself. The single compares love to the existence of the moon – the steadfastness of love, even if there is no moonlight.
Hotel Lobby – Tobii
Fresh off the viral success of Bad Girls Like You, Def Jam Thailand artiste Tobii returns with Hotel Lobby, with its catchy chorus and teasing lyrics.
