Sonray Music has pledged to improve its internal processes – including vowing to “create the best possible opportunities for every artist” – following fan unhappiness over unequal treatment among members of BUS because of you i shine.

In a statement issued 26 September, the label sought to address the growing online discussions relating to BUS member AA Ashirakorn.

Fans had trended the hashtag #SonrayTreatAABetter on 25 September with allegations about unequal work opportunities and hate speech directed at AA.

Sonray in its statement says it is committed “to ensuring that all artistes are given the best and most equal opportunities” but note that it will also “take into account both their prior work schedules and academic commitments”.

Sonray adds that allegations of mismanagement were “falsely claimed” to have originated from within the company. It has conducted a “thorough investigation” and confirmed that the source was not from Sonray but an “unverified and anonymous account”.

While it did not deny or agree with the allegations, Sonray says it has put in place measures to improve its management.

“A meeting with relevant parties has been held, and additional measures have been implemented to strengthen and ensure greater rigour in the management and care of our artistes,” states Sonray.

“Sonray Music believes in the responsible and constructive use of online media to ensure a safer environment for both artistes and fans, a space where everyone can provide support in a positive manner,” it adds.
