Universal Music Thailand is to hold a charity concert to help raise funds for victims of the devastating floods in Southern Thailand.
The Sing For The South concert takes place on 27 November at Siam Square, and will bring together 12 labels and more than 20 artistes.
Labels participating include Sonray Music, White Music, What The Duck, as well as SpicyDisc.
Some of the T-Pop acts set to appear include BUS (represented by Marckris, Copper and Jinwook) and DICE (represented by Apo, Otto, Min and Maddoc); PUN, Samui, Tobii, as well as girl groups MINDY and MXFRUIT. According to Universal Music Thailand, more artistes could be added to the line-up.
The event, which starts at 4pm Thailand time, is free to attend and will be streamed on the Thailand Music Countdown Youtube page. Fans are encouraged to make donations, which go to Chulalongkorn University’s efforts to provide relief to victims.
The charity concert is the latest in a string of efforts by the Thai music industry to rally support for flood victims, which has included large donations to aid agencies.
On 25 November, well-known singer Oat Pramote organised a similar concert – under his WHY LIVE music channel – at Siam Square. The charity concert raised over 6 million THB, according to media reports.
The nine southern provinces of Thailand have been hit by the worst flooding in decades, with over millions of people affected.
