GMMTV has acquired a majority share in popular BL production house Studio Wabi Sabi, with the latter now becoming an indirect subsidiary.
GMMTV Parent company ONE Enterprise (ONEE) revealed the deal in a stock exchange filing on 14 September.
GMMTV will now own 51% of Studio Wabi Sabi, while director New Siwaj will retain 49% shareholding. New is the founder of Studio Wabi Sabi.
According to the filing, GMMTV’s share is worth around 3.56 million baht. ONEE says the transaction will be paid up by GMMTV’s working capital.
Following the acquisition, it is expected that Studio Wabi Sabi’s nature of business will be “content production and development”, as well as “integrated artiste management”.
Studio Wabi Sabi is best known for several BL series, including Love By Chance and Until We Meet Again. Its current roster of artistes include Bever-Tonliew.
In 2024, a numbet of former Studio Wabi Sabi stars joined GMMTV, including Boun Noppanut, and Santa Pongsapak (who is also part of the boy group JASP.ER).
