The two-night MixedPop concert, organised by RS Music Thailand, saw the whos-who of T-Pop blaze the stage with their ever-expanding tracklist and electrifying moves.
But it was the covers that brought some of us down memory lane, and breathed new life into the T-Pop tracks that defined the 2000s.
Here are some of ChaPop’s picks from the night:
รักต้องเปิด(แน่นอก) – Proxie | Original by 3.2.1
Songkran may long be over but Proxie kept it wet, wet, wet, with the iconic 3.2.1 bop. (We absolutely live for Chokun Proxie feeling the fantasy, as the TikTok shows). The five-man group also performed a cover of Timethai’s รักกว่านี้ไม่มีอีกละ during the concert.
เหงาปาก – PERSES | Original by K-OTIC
The GNEST boy group gave the fans a medley of T-Pop covers, injecting their signature high-energy moves into every single track. The boys kept the crowd on their feet, from K-OTIC’s เหงาปาก to Chin Chinawut’s คืนนี้อยากได้กี่ครั้ง, ending their covers medley with Bodyslam’s ยาพิษ.
ซ่าส์…(สั่นๆ) – BUS7 | Original by D2B
Dressed in the colours of the rainbow, the boys of BUS sub-unit BUS7 covered D2B’s high-energy track, released in 2001 – when some of BUS’s members weren’t born yet.
เกรงใจ – BUS5 | Original by Raptor
The moment BUS5’s members put on their Y2K-inspired sunnies, we knew we were in for a treat. Any 90s kid (or kid-at-heart) will recall the unmistakable chorus of Raptor’s เกรงใจ, and we think the boys do justice to the chorus’ iconic dance moves.
Gossip – VIIS | Original by Girly Berry
The girls of VIIS put their fiery take – complete with a red-and-white ensemble – on the original Girly Berry track
แฟนพันธุ์ท้อ – DICE | Original by Timethai
DICE members – Jay, Alex, Jisang and Cheese – put their spin on the Timethai classic, adding a dash of cute to the original track.
ชิมิ – DICE | Original by Blueberry
The remaining DICE members Min, Apo, Obo, Maddoc, Otto and Frame nicely encapsulate the high-energy, cutesy vibe of the OG track, released in 2010 and originally sung by Blueberry, a lukthung girl group under the RSiam label.
