Ice hockey and music might feel like two very different topics, but these are two passions very dear to White Fox’s Kin Thanachai.

He played with national youth ice hockey team in Thailand, representing the country at the Under-20 Asia and Oceania Championship in 2022, where the team took home the championship of that year.

It was also in 2022 that Kin broke the ice of the music scene, making his debut at White Fox with the single อยู่คนเดียวมันเหงา, where the music video referenced his love for ice hockey.

Indeed, Kin continues to make inroads two years from his debut, releasing two comeback songs – แอบรัก(เพื่อนรัก) and อยากมีเธอใกล้ๆ – a month apart from each other this year.

He is now starring in the boys-love series Hidden Moon, which airs on one31 and WeTV, and has just teased a collaboration with BUS Because of you I shine member Marckris.

ChaPop speaks to the 20-year-old about his latest musical journey and how he juggles life on the rink and in the studios.

Congratulations on the release of อยากมีเธอใกล้ๆ and แอบรัก(เพื่อนรัก)! Could you talk a bit more about both songs?

These two songs are my latest singles, marking my comeback, and they are incredibly special to me. We created them as part of the ‘Boy-Love Experience Music Series,’ connecting both music videos through a single storyline.

The story begins with the แอบรัก (เพื่อนรัก) MV, which portrays a journey from friendship to love, continuing in the อยากมีเธอใกล้ๆ MV. My favorite director, ‘Boss’ Kuno, served as the executive director for this project.

Both song were shot in Hong Kong – how long did filming take? Any particular memories (or challenges) from your trips?

We shot it in three days, and I was excited about every scene because this was my first music video shoot outside of Thailand, and I really love Hong Kong. We filmed the MV at iconic landmarks and highlight spots in Hong Kong.

It was very crowded and challenging to shoot, so we had to wait for the right moment to capture each scene. Despite the challenges, I was really impressed by the city’s vibrant energy and how it added a special touch to the overall experience.

You worked with Jump Pisitpol (in both music videos) and with Tad ATLAS in อยากมีเธอใกล้ๆ. How was it like working with both of them?

Two words to describe them: ‘talented’ and ‘professional.’ They made everything so easy for me. With P’Jump, our chemistry was amazing, and with P’Tad, he truly completed this single. They both impressed me, and I’m really looking forward to working with them more in the future.

How did you get into music and how has your journey been so far?

It’s always been my dream. I love music, and it inspired me to become an artist. So, I decided to audition for White Fox (GMM MUSIC), and that’s how my career began.

You are also an ice hockey player – are there any similarities between ice hockey and making music?

Talent and practice are the keys to success in both. In ice hockey and music, dedication and hard work are essential. Both fields require perseverance and passion to achieve your best.

How do you juggle your different passions?

I keep things balanced by staying organised and setting aside time for both ice hockey and music. It’s all about managing my schedule and staying committed to what I love.

What’s next for Kin? Can we expect new music soon, or a concert upcoming?

Exciting collaborations and special guests are coming this year. Next year, I have a new single on the way, so stay tuned. Don’t miss out—see you soon!
