Only Monday vocalist Tee Teepakorn has finally broken his silence on the ongoing controversy that has engulfed the band in recent days.
In a statement on social media, Tee says he has filed a police report to “prove my innocence” in the scandal in which he is at the centre of.
The latest controversy revolves around explicit images and clips, and also involves Tee’s ex-girlfriend, known as ‘Bell’. There had been speculation that Tee had leaked the images and clips online, a claim that the 22-year-old strongly refutes.
“Today, I went to file a police report to confirm my innocence and confirm that I did not release the clip,” says Tee, referring to the explicit footage.
He also alludes to having “preliminary information” that proves he was not the one who leaked the clips, but notes: “I cannot disclose it due to the ongoing investigation.”
Tee’s comments come more than a day after the band’s label Gene Lab revealed it would be suspending the band’s official engagements – including a weekend performance at the Big Mountain Music Festival – and removing all music from streaming platforms, while it investigated the allegations.
The move deals a blow to the band’s propsects, with members appearing to be caught offguard by the suspension.
Tee’s two other bandmates Prod and Frame also confirmed – in earlier statements – the band had nothing to do with the leak.
In his statement, Tee says he accepts “all responsibility as imposed by the company”.
“However, I will take this time to prove myself and will do everything possible to ensure justice for (Bell),” he adds.
Tee had also been embroiled in controversy in July this year, following allegations he had cheated on ‘Bell’ on more than 10 occasions while they were together.
His latest statement drew mixed reactions from fans, some of whom did not buy Tee’s argument that he was not involved. Others urged for patience while investigations take place.
