Actor-singers ‘Bright’ Vachirawit Chivaaree and ‘Nene’ Pornnappan Pornpenpipat have confirmed that they are dating, days after social media footage emerged of them holding hands in Japan.
The duo issued separate statements on 22 April, with Bright’s label Cloud9 Entertainment also weighing in on the matter.
Addressing his fans, Bright acknowledged the news “might have caught you off-guard”.
“I just wanted to clarify a few things, especially for my fans who are always so caring and curious about how I am doing—yes, we are really dating,” says the 26-year-old.
He calls Nene “one of the most precious people I’ve met”, but did not disclose how long they have been together, or how they met.
“She makes me feel warm and safe every day we’ve been together. I hope you guys will cheer for us,” says Bright, who shot to fame in 2020 acting in the GMMTV boys-love (BL) series 2gether The Series.
Bright also acknowledged the relationship when he spoke to media hours after the statement was issued. He says that he was “impressed with everything” about his partner, adding that he was “never unhappy even for one day”.
Nene, meanwhile, in her statement to her fans, apologised for “not being able to share this…earlier before it made the news”.
Nene, who also had a supporting role in 2gether The Series, says Bright is “a warm person”, adding: “When we are together, I find myself laughing more, smiling brighter, and feeling unafraid to take risks. Because I know there will always be someone to accept me, support me, and catch me if I fall.”
Separately, Cloud9 Entertainment, which manages Bright, stressed that the disclosure of the relationship “does not diminish the value of their fans who have supported them through their careers”.
“We will continue to prioritise all fans as before. We want every fan to have faith in the artists’ decisions and to trust that we will continue fulfil our duty to bring happiness to all fans, just as we have always done,” it adds.
On 20 April, social media images emerged of the pair in Tokyo holding hands while walking. Other images included the pair having meals together.
The images sent social media – and particularly their fans – into a frenzy, with rumours of the duo being together intensifying.
The disclosure drew words of support from some fans, including celebrities such as GMMTV’s ‘Mook’ Worranit Thawornwong who left a series of hearts on Nene’s Instagram post. Other fans said all that matters was that the duo were happy,
Still, the disappointment among other fans – especially those who were part of the 2gether fandom – was evident. In the BL series, Bright played opposite Riser Music/GMMTV artiste Metawin Opas-iamkajorn, and fans had coined the hashtag #BrightWin for the pair.
