As we close 2025, ChaPop looks back at the headlines that shaped T-Pop during the year.

From trainees to debutants, this year saw its share of new names added to a growing roster of T-Pop acts. Several of these groups also mark new firsts for their respective labels.

NEW GROUPS

1. FELIZZ

Six-member FELIZZ is Riser Music’s newest girl group, having made their debut in May this year.

The group was formerly known as Riser Rookies – the label’s first batch of trainees – and were officially confirmed as its newest group this year. Their sophomore single Abracadabra arguably shot the group to massive popularity, with its catchy chorus and iconic dance.

2. CIR*CRL

The six-member group is the first boy group for MChoice Music, comprising former trainees Sam, Leon, Phee, Pie, Ben and Tutor.

At a packed showcase in October, the group made their official debut with the release of the single Want It Now. CIR*CRL then released its second single Switch It Up on 24 December, and unveiled its official fandom name – CEN*TRE.

3. LE7EL

Known better for the girl group PiXXiE and co-ed group bamm, LiT Entertainment held an idol survival show 2HOUSES earlier this year to search for its first boy group.

The result is LE7EL, whose 8 members were the top eight trainees of the programme. Their debut single Levelling Up is a smart (and catchy) play on their group name. (You can read our interview with the group here)

4. DEXX

DEXX is the highly-anticipated boy group to debut from DMD Music, having first been revealed at the label’s showcase earlier this year.

By June this year, the six-member boy group was unveiled, combining a mix of known names (like Domundi actor Jamessu) and fresh faces like Auau and Por. Their debut single Clang Clang came soon after, with its stunning visuals and catchy hook.

5. SuperThai

They may not have won the idol survival show Chuang Asia 2, but that has not stopped four of the show’s Thai finalists from forming a T-Pop boy group.

SuperThai burst into the scene in June this year – just two months after the conclusion of Chuang Asia 2 – with the pre-debut single Generate. By August, the quartet officialy made their debut with the track Run The Show.

6. VVV

One of T-Pop’s newest acts made their debut in November, with the release of the first single ตัวปัญหา (ENVY).

The trio of Janus, Junior and Jeewath were former What The Duck trainees, having been mentored by The Toys.

7. CLO’VER

Riser Music’s third boy group (after LYKN and JASP.ER) made their debut on 27 November, days after the four members were revealed on social media.

Three CLO’VER members – Keen, Ashi and Aungpao – were part of the idol survival show Project Alpha, which ultimately birthed Riser’s first boy group LYKN. The group’s fourth member Barcode hailed from Be On Cloud, before joining GMMTV in 2024.

8. GELBOYS

The BL series proved not only to be the launching pad for the careers of its four lead actors, but was also a cultural reset, with its ode to youth culture.

The series marked the musical debut of its four leads – Pide, New, PJ and Leon – who are featured heavily on its OST.

NEW SOLOISTS

1. Samui

Samui made his debut as White Music’s newest soloist in May, and his journey has been a long time coming. He took part in the LAZiCON idol survival show in 2021 but did not make the final cut.

Then in 2022, Samui was one of the six-member boy group DVI, which was managed by 4NOLOGUE Music. The group, however, disbanded in 2024, and it would not until 2025 that Samui reappeared, this time as a White Music soloist. Since then he has wasted no time in music-making, having released three singles – and an EP.

2. Meepooh

Only 16 but already a full-fledged soloist: WhiteFox’s latest soloist made a splash with his debut in November this year, capping off more than two years as a trainee under the label.

His debut single งอแง (CRYBABY) had its MV shot in New York City, with scenes in Central Park and Time Square. Talk about globetrotting!

3. Blue Pongtiwat

Making the switch from acting to singing is actor Blue Pongtiwat, who in August was unveiled as LOVEiS Entertainment’s newest soloist.

Blue, who in 2019 shot to stardom with the Channel 3 drama KrongKam (กรงกรรม), released his debut single Same Old Song on 28 August, marking his foray into music.
