Last Saturday, 7 October 2023, saw four leading female vocalists in T-pop – Bowkylion, Ink Waruntorn, Violette Wautier, and Zom Marie – sharing the stage for the much anticipated “4 Queens Concert”.
The sold-out concert at the Impact Challenger was the talk of the town since it was first teased in July, with over 15,000 tickets selling out within minutes.
The concert opened with the four powerhouses performing a medley of their hits Heartbeat จังหวะจะรัก by Violette Wautier, Ink Waruntorn’s Glad ดีใจด้วยนะ, Zom Marie’s Kidding? หรือฉันคิดไปเอง, and Bowkylion’s ลงใจ. After a short interaction on the 360-degree centrestage, they then each performed their solos, with Zom Marie going up first.
The concert showcases the different styles and elements of the artistes, which were represented by the four seasons, thus setting the theme for the night. Zom Marie sprang with the colours of Spring, followed by the heat of Violette Wautier’s Summer girl. Bowkylion started the next half with her Autumn’s mystery before Ink Waruntorn’s cold Winter capped their solo sets.
The concert also featured surprise appearances by Oat Pramote and PP Krit, much to the delight of an already star-studded evening.
ChaPop says: It is a great concept to bring the leading female artistes together for a one-night concert where their styles complement rather than outshine each other. ChaPop did spot a few international fans in attendance, although the concert was not marketed overseas. This underscores the demand for such an event, and therefore ChaPop hopes that there is another iteration of it, perhaps with male soloists.
