Only Monday frontman Tee Teepakorn has spoken up again about the long-drawn controversy involving a leak of explicit images and clips, condemning what the negative debate and reiterating his innocence.

Tee was in December embroiled in the explicit footage leak controversy that also his ex-girlfriend known as ‘Bell’. There were claims he had allegedly leaked the footage online, something he still denies.

The issue led to the band being suspended from all official engagements, with their music temporarily taken down from all streaming platforms.

In his latest statement released 6 July, Tee said he is speaking out now as he “cannot take it anymore”, after witnessing multiple occasions where he and the band – as well as venues and events that have engaged Only Monday to perform – be subjected to “verbal abuse” from members of the public.

“Everyone has been affected…my family…are being insulted. People in my band, my circle (are) also being criticised.

“It became as if anyone associated with me was also considered guilty…simply because of being connected to me, even though I never wanted that to happen,” he wrote.

Following the band’s ouster from Gene Lab (which has now changed ownership), Only Monday resumed some gigs after a few months, usually at live music venues across the country. The band has not been invited to perform at any music festival since the controversy.

According to Tee, the controversy has forced him to lay low. He adds: “Now, whenever I want to attend a concert, support my seniors, or simply show encouragement to someone, I feel like I have to hide.”

‘I WASN’T THE ONE WHO LEAKED IT’

Tee filed a police report following news of the video leak, claiming he knew who had posted those clips, while maintaining his innocence.

He doubled down on this in his latest statement, insisting that while he had taken the explicit footage, “I wasn’t the one who leaked it”.

“I have never been the type of person to share intimate videos or private material with anyone. People can think I’m promiscuous if they want, but I never wanted anyone to see me naked, or to see my former partner naked,” he added.

Investigations into the matter are still ongoing, with no conclusion yet.

“I’ve done everything I can to find…the person responsible because I’m just as angry that someone has damaged both my life and (Bell’s) life like this,” he wrote.

He also claimed: “I simply want fairness. I am also a victim in this situation.”

Social media was abuzz after the release of his statement. While some netizens were understanding towards his frustrations, others felt Tee’s claims “lacked evidence”. Some fans also offered support, saying they hoped Tee and Only Monday would be able to get through their challenges.
